>> My name is Shirley Trauger and I'm a vice president at Schultz and Williams, which is a consulting firm. We work with not-for-profit organizations of all kinds and most of the work that we do is helping them with their fundraising programs or marketing or strategic planning. We try first of all to be very clear about what they need or what they think they need and usually that's around developing new resources for themselves, which often has to do with engaging their constituencies and motivating them to support them at higher levels. So, we offer planning work. We offer assessments of their programs, their development programs, fundraising programs, marketing programs, and then recommendations about how to improve them. We also will from time to time step in as interim staff people in those areas. I'm very, very lucky to have the kind of job where my day doesn't look the same from one day to the next. For instance, today I will spend time with two different clients working on campaigns, helping them again to look the people that they know and how to make those relationships stronger and more productive. Some days I'm writing. I can spend days at a time writing reports that reflect back on the studies that we've done. Yesterday and the day before, I was on the road interviewing people who are leaders in their communities, who support organizations financially or through their leadership, talking to them on an individual basis about the client and the project that they want to accomplish and whether those people would like to be part of those projects. So, I spend time in my office trying to assemble resources, other people who might work on these projects, so I do marketing and sales for my firm as well as direct client services. It's a great job. There's a lot of different things. I get to meet great people who are doing really wonderful work.
